I grew up in Shepherds Bush. I saw that on the corners beautiful gardens were popping up, I found Maria on Instagram and thought I know that!
How can I volunteer ?

When I stumbled across Maria’s shout out for volunteers I knew Spiritus needed to take action.
The green project has the same ethos as Spiritus . Nurture and grow.
Spiritus aims to be involved with West London community and show its students what life is about.
To show our students how Maria began The Green Project is a very inspirational story - she saw a problem, knew how to solve it and done it.
Spiritus wants to show its students how much you can achieve by actioning an idea and the sense of satisfaction doing what you love.

I've lived in the area for 47 years. Much has changed. I don't go out much, the people I meet here... It's kind of a social club. I see people from different countries, from all walks of life, that's interesting to me.
You see the difference it's made, all the people helping, from what is was then, to what it is now, it's beautiful!

I came across the project running in the mornings at Wormholt Park. I saw these patches, little areas on the corners of roads growing into beautiful gardens, so out of curiosity my husband and I found out, through a thank you message left in the garden, who was responsible for the gardening. I now dip in and out of the project when I find the time!

The green project's been wonderful for the area... It's work has transformed the corners, due to neglect, it didn't look smart, people left litter... the green project came and they were transformed...
Now people stop and they say "You know they're amazing"...
